Retirement 101
(aka Wash, Rinse, Repeat)
6/14/24: (Note: I just found this draft post, not realizing it wasn't published almost 4 years ago! Today starts my 2nd retirement, after working part-time for another educational publisher for almost 4 years. It's funny, finding these words I wrote so long ago. It feels different now, and I think I have a much better handle on how I'm going to be spending my spare time. We will see.

9/22/20: I'm now into my third week of my early retirement and what I find most rewarding is my empty calendar and my barely active email accounts.
I've been filling my days with dentist, vet, doctor, and car service appointments – things I had trouble fitting in or I put off due to the pandemic, but it's nothing like when I was working.
The thousands of unread emails and triple-booked meetings are no longer hanging over my head. It's glorious!
I've also traveled a little bit more, quarantining when necessary. Retirement would be a totally different experience if it weren't for Covid. We shall see!
